Raymond M. Nowicki, CPA, teaches local not-for-profits how to benefit from an audit.
West Seneca, New York - Raymond M. Nowicki, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Managing Partner of Nowicki and Company, LLP, joined Sarah Hopkins, CPA and Cathleen Karpik, CPA, both from Lumsden McCormick; and Pat Johnson, CPA from Canisius College, as panelists at a United Way training session entitled: "Preparing for Your Audit." The interactive session, held at United Way headquarters at 742 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY in November, was dedicated to advising Not-for-Profit Board Members, Directors, Officers and Controllers on how to gain maximum benefit from their financial audit, instead of looking at an audit as a legal obligation. Subjects included ethics and governance, internal controls, reporting, management involvement, and fraud discovery.
